What is Vacation Property Damage Protection?
Vacation Property Damage Protection Is a service provided by VRDP (Vacation Renters Damage Protection). It’s the easiest way to provide substantial coverage to rental vacationers that can help them protect themselves from additional expenses should accidental damage occur to a rental property during their stay.
The VRDP Damage Protection Plan provides up to $3,000 coverage for accidental damage to the rental home and property that can include: broken lamps, windows and glass, electronics, damaged doors, walls and furniture, stained bedding or linens, Grill, hot-tubs, pools outdoor amenities, lost keys, re-keying costs and more.
Why not just rely on the standard Security Deposit?
The $500 security deposit could cost you the loss of the entire $500 or more. The average damage claim on a vacation rental is over $200 and could easily reach over $350. You may forfeit all of your $500 security deposit at a total loss to you, just because of an unexpected accident.
Why should I purchase VRDP Damage Protection?
While no one expects to damage a rental property, accidents do happen. VRDP Damage Protection is recommended if you are traveling with children, pets, or in a group, holding an event. It is also recommend if you are spending a significant amount on a luxury rental or extended stay.
Does the VRDP Damage Protection plan provide coverage for damage caused by pets?
The plan can provide coverage for damage caused by support pets, only if having support pets at the rental is permitted by: prior to arrival of vacation, informing the managers and paying the pet fee. Pet damage is not covered if the damage is due to chewing or clawing.
How do I purchase VRDP Damage Protection?
You can include it with your Vacation booking, just call our office to have it added to your trip.
Does the VRDP Damage Protection plan provide coverage for vandalism or theft?
VRDP Damage Protection does not cover intentional acts, acts of vandalism or theft, coverage would not be afforded if you or your guest, intentionally damage or take something from the vacation rental property.
The vacation rental property has charged a security deposit, should I still purchase VRDP Damage Protection?
VRDP Damage Protection would be a wise choice if you are concerned about accidental damage occurring during your stay. By selecting to include and combine the VRDP Damage Protection along with the security deposit you can safeguard your security deposit refund. Should accidental damage occur during your stay, you would receive the security deposit refund.
How does the VRDP process work?
Simply notify the Rental Property Manager you have caused unintentional damage to the property the Rental Property Manager will handle everything to correct, repair or replace the damage up to the agreed maximum of the coverage selected.
What if I cancel my reservation after I’ve purchased Property Damage Protection?
Yes you will receive a full refund if after cancelling your reservation you call 305-735-8456 to cancel your Damage Protection plan. You must call prior to the date you are scheduled to arrive at the rental property to receive a refund.
Who is VRDP?
VRDP is a business providing the value-driven service Vacation Renters are requesting in lieu of traditional Security Deposits. VRDP services are to protect traveler’s vacation investments and provide the peace of mind they deserve while traveling. Since its inception in VRDP has solidified its reputation for standing behind its customers and introducing products and services to meet their needs.
The product and or service provided by VRDP Travel Protection Plans are available only to Vacation Property marketed and or managed by VITK. Benefits and services are described on a general basis; certain conditions, limitations, Maximum amounts of coverage and exclusions apply. This plan provides coverage only if prior to arrival VRDP service is paid for. Your covered one continuous trip is limited to one home per VRDP coverage. You may purchase multiple VRDP products for more than one home rented. You may have coverage from other sources that provides you with similar benefits but may be subject to different restrictions depending upon your other coverages. You may wish to compare the terms of this policy with your existing life, health, home and automobile policies. The purchase of this plan is not required in order to purchase any other travel product or service offered to you by your travel retailers.
